Privacy
Your keystrokes are yours.
KeyHabit is built to work without an account, a profile, or a connection to our servers.

The short version
- The KeyHabit app does not collect, store, or transmit what you type.
- The app verifies activation codes offline and does not need an account.
- This website does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers.
- Payments are processed by Creem, which handles your payment details.
What the app reads
To remap shortcuts, KeyHabit reads keyboard and scroll events — specifically key codes, modifier flags, and scroll deltas — and, when a matching rule applies, rewrites the event before the system delivers it. It does not read text content, clipboard contents, window titles, documents, or browsing activity, and it does not keep a log of your input.
KeyHabit uses macOS Accessibility permission for this purpose. Settings, exclusions, and license state are stored locally on your Mac.
Network activity
KeyHabit 1.0 does not make network requests. Activation codes are signed by our redemption service and verified inside the app with an embedded public key, so activation works without a connection.
When automatic update checking is added in a later release, the app will request a signed update feed and download updates only when you ask it to. That request includes standard technical information such as your app version and operating system version. This policy will be updated before any such feature ships.
License redemption
When you redeem a license key on this website, the key and the purchase email you enter are sent to our redemption service and checked with Creem's API. The service uses them only to confirm that the key belongs to that purchase and to sign an activation code. It does not store the key, your email address, or the generated code in a database.
Like most internet services, Cloudflare may process standard request metadata, such as IP address and user agent, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data for advertising or profiling.
Purchases
Checkout is hosted by Creem, which acts as merchant of record. Creem collects the information needed to process your order — for example your email address, billing details, and tax information — under its own privacy policy. We receive order and license information from Creem so we can provide support and honor refunds.
Support email
If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to answer your request and keep it no longer than needed for support records.
Your choices
You can stop all local processing at any time by quitting KeyHabit or turning off its master switch. If you want us to delete support correspondence associated with you, email [email protected].
Children
KeyHabit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how data is handled, the update will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
